It is made by the famous Saitek firm, who took over the failed German company Mephisto several years ago, and whose brand-name they still use on certain models.

The Master, playing at the standard 3 minutes per move average, has an ECF rating in the 181-193 range. The strongest computer ever made was the TASC R30, at 226 ECF (ELO 2408), but this is now a very rare second-hand item.
